Tracking the coolest temperatures of the week before weekend heat returns

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with some river valley fog. Lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and comfortable with highs in the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: Dew points remain in the low 60s for Friday and the weekend as northwest upper wind flow remains in place. We can expect one more cool night in the lower to mid-60s on Saturday morning before high pressure begins to move east and warm us into the upper 80s by Saturday afternoon. The ridge locks in for much of next week with highs in the low to mid-90s and dew points reaching the mid-upper 60s. It will be a hot stretch, but likely not our hottest feels like temperatures of the summer with heat index readings in the upper 90s to around 100 each day through the end of the week. Rain chances will be hard to come by with the storm track at the top of the ridge just to our north. The closest we will likely get will be a complex of storms perhaps skirting by to our northeast on Saturday. The pattern looks to hold as we get into Labor Day weekend.
