Man threatens officers during domestic disturbance

A Columbia man was arrested Monday after he threatened officers and allegedly threatened to kill the mother of his children.

Albert Miller allegedly began choking the victim in his home and threatened to kill her with a knife. When officers arrived on scene, Miller barricaded himself in his home with two children, who were under the age of 17.

According to court documents, Miller would not come out of the home and threatened to shoot police from the window. Miller also threatened to kill himself during the incident.

Police were eventually able to remove the children from the home safely. Miller continued to make threats to officers until he was taken into custody.

Miller was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, armed criminal action and domestic assault. He’s currently being held in the Boone County Jail.
