UPDATE: One person shot in downtown Columbia

UPDATE: In a press release, Columbia police said there was no suspect information to share at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the area of College Avenue and Ash Street just before 3 a.m. after receiving multiple calls of gunfire in the area.

When officers arrived to the area they found multiple shell casings in the middle of College avenue.

At least one man is in the hospital recovering with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police say they are working on getting suspect information.

Parts of College Avenue and Ash Street were shut down while police investigated.
