Mid-Missouri Business Week: Tariffs impact $880 million of Missouri goods

Recently, President Donald Trump announced additional tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. Tariffs on products in the state of Missouri hit nearly $880 million worth of products.

Yesterday, the president visited Springfield, Missouri, and talked about his optimism for the tariffs.

Dr. Joseph Haslag, an economist with the University of Missouri, says these tariffs help producers but hurt consumers.

Haslag said the state is mostly hurt by the tariffs on agricultural products.
