Court appearance set for suspect in Eagles building crash

A Huntsville man is due in court next week on charges that he crashed his truck into the Eagles lodge in Moberly.

William Davis, 57, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Police were sent to the Eagles lodge at 1408 N. Morley St. early Aug. 24 after a pickup truck went through a stop sign and crashed into the building, causing what police called serious damage to the west wall.

Police said in a probable cause statement that Davis admitted to crashing into the building.

His court appearance is scheduled for Monday morning.
