Cool nights & mild days for the weekend, rain returns next week

TONIGHT: Much cooler air moves in behind the front as overnight lows fall into the low 50s by Saturday morning. Areas north of HWY 24 will drop to the upper 40s. Winds will be out of the northeast from 6-10 mph.

SATURDAY: The coolest day we’ve seen in about two weeks arrives Saturday afternoon, with highs struggling to climb into the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. At this time, the front is expected to head farther south into southern Missouri Saturday, with slim rain chances still possible near I-44 in the morning.Winds come in from the northeast up to 10 mph.

EXTENDED: Sunday will be dry and cool with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Spot storm chances return Monday as temperatures reach the upper 70s. A stronger cold front will move into mid-Missouri Tuesday. Ahead of it, temperatures will reach near 80 Tuesday with scattered showers and t-storms. Much cooler air moves back in by Tuesday night, dropping temperatures into the low 50s overnight. Wednesday stays cool with highs near 70. Yet another cold front will move in Thursday with only a slight rain chance and keeping temperatures on the cool side.
