Hot and humid through the middle of the week

TUESDAY: The heat and humidity continue as temperatures rise into the lower 90s with heat indices reaching the upper 90s. Skies will be mostly sunny with an isolated afternoon storm chance, mainly north of HWY 50. Winds will stay under 8 mph from the south.

TONIGHT: Temperatures through morning hold onto the low 70s with mostly clear skies. By morning it may be a bit muggy with winds out of the south up to 7 mph.

EXTENDED: The upper level ridge will be locked into place for the majority of this week, bringing us temperatures that are well above normal, feeling more like late June as we close out the summer season. However, there is the potential for some relief down the line. We’re tracking a wave of low pressure that will track across the northern plains which will drape a cold front across the Midwest bringing us a chance at some widespread rainfall, and cooler temperatures starting on Friday. The cold front may stall bringing us on and off rain chances through the weekend. Highs for the weekend will stay in the 70s with nights dropping to near 60.
