Hot and humid the next few days, cooling Friday
TONIGHT: We’ll have another unseasonably warm night as temperatures only drop into the upper 60s by morning under clear skies. Winds will remain light, coming in from the south.
TUESDAY: The heat and humidity continue as temperatures rise into the lower 90s with heat indices reaching the upper 90s. Skies will be partly cloudy with an isolated afternoon storm chance, mainly north of HWY 50. Winds will stay under 8 mph from the south.
EXTENDED: The upper level ridge will be locked into place for the majority of this week, bringing us temperatures that are well above normal, feeling more like late June as we close out the summer season. However, there is the potential for some relief down the line. We’re tracking a wave of low pressure that will track across the northern plains which will drape a cold front across the Midwest bringing us a chance at some widespread rainfall, and cooler temperatures starting on Friday. The cold front may stall bringing us on and off rain chances through the weekend. Highs for the weekend will stay in the 70s with nights dropping to near 60.
