Crash shuts down Route FF late Saturday night

Emergency crews shut down a Boone County road late Saturday night due to a vehicle collision.

The Boone County Office of Emergency Management sent out an alert about Route FF, near Route Z, being closed around 11:40 p.m.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash reports, Andrew Newbrough, 19, of Thompson, was heading east on Route FF when he went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and landed back in the roadway.

Newbrough suffered serious injuries from the crash and was taken to University Hospital, according to the report.

He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
