Vandiver Drive re-opens after false bomb threat

Columbia police re-opened a portion of Vandiver Drive after is was blocked off for a potential bomb threat.

However, after an investigation that lasted more than one and a half hours, police determined the threat was false.

The threat in the 500 block of Vandiver was determined to be false. Vandiver is reopening to traffic now.

The street was blocked off between North Providence Road and Corporate Place.

Boone County Joint Communications sent a notification about the closure at 2:06 p.m. The Columbia Police Department later said on Twitter that the closure of the 500 block of Vandiver was related to an investigation of a bomb threat.

Vandiver between Providence and Rangeline is closed while emergency services investigate a bomb threat in the 500 blk of Vandiver. Please avoid the area.
