Three cars shot up in northeast Columbia

UPDATE – 6:15 P.M.: Detective Tom O’Sullivan confirms two people were driving on Pinehurst just after 2:00 Wednesday morning when someone fired dozens of shots at them.

The driver lost control of the car and ended up hitting a parked car nearby. The victim’s car and two others got hit by gunfire.

The victims were not hurt but didn’t know who was shooting at them, or why.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE – 2:30 A.M.: Boone County sheriffs deputies said they are investigating a shots fired incident in northeast Columbia Wednesday morning.

Law enforcement responded just before 2 a.m. to the intersection of Pinehurst and Godas drives.

Investigators said they found more than 25 shell casings on scene and than bullets hit two vehicles parked nearby, two others were involved in a collision on Pinehurst.

Deputies say there were no injuries in the incident and no suspect information is currently available.

Deputies told ABC 17 News the investigation is ongoing.

This same intersection was the scene of a shots fired incident in February during which 10 shell casings were found, but no homes or people were hit.

ORIGINAL: Columbia police officers and Boone County deputies launched an investigation in a northeast Columbia neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Law enforcement responded just before 2 a.m. to the intersection of Pinehurst and Godas drives for a reported vehicle collision.

ABC 17 News crews on scene saw the two vehicles having collided.

Reporters were told to move a significant distance away from the site before crime scene tape was used to cordon off the area.

Initial reports indicate shots may have been fired in the incident, but police and deputies have not confirmed any details as of 2:10 a.m. Wednesday.

This same intersection was the scene of a shots fired incident in February during which 10 shell casings were found, but no homes or people were hit.
