Woman charged in Miller County shooting

A woman is now charged in Miller County after police accused her of shooting another woman.

Kathryn R. Neu, 60, of Marthasville, was charged Tuesday with felony first-degree assault – serious physical injury or special victim, felony armed criminal action and felony resisting arrest.

Police said officers responded to a home in the 300 block of VFW Road in Eldon around 7:23 p.m. Sunday after Miller County Joint Communications received a call about the shooting.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, witnesses told police that Neu shot the victim once in the leg with a .22 caliber rifle.

Investigators said Neu resisted arrest and later stated that she didn’t shoot the woman.

The victim identified Neu as the person who shot her during an interview at the hospital.
