Temperatures return to seasonal for the second half of the week

WEDNESDAY: Morning fog and low clouds will clear to partly sunny skies with temperatures heating up into the upper 80s in the afternoon. Winds will stay under 10 mph from the north keeping humidity low through the day. From 2-5 PM we can’t rule out and isolated shower towards the Lake of the Ozarks and to the southeast, but any storms we see will be isolated and brief in nature.

TONIGHT: Under some passing clouds temperatures will cool through the night down to upper 60s. Winds will be light out of the southeast making for a pleasant start to the day.

EXTENDED: High temperatures will reach the lower 90s Thursday and Friday under mostly sunny skies as the upper level ridge builds back over the area. A weak cold front drifting south Friday could spark a spot shower or t-storm late Friday evening, mainly north of I-70. For the weekend, slight storm chances are in the forecast as an upper level low pressure area develops over the Great Lakes and digs to the south. A weak front at the surface could trigger spot storms both Saturday and Sunday with the best chance south of I-70 & near the Ozarks. Weekend high temperatures will stay near 90 under partly to mostly sunny skies. Dry time continues into early next week, but we are watching for an overnight convective system developing to the southwest that could lift north and impact our area by Tuesday afternoon, which could bring the next batch of widespread rain fall.
