Traffic backed up for miles on I-44 in Phelps County

The Missouri Department of Transportation tweeted around 3:30 p.m. that drivers on Interstate 44 in Phelps County were experiencing massive delays Sunday afternoon.

Traffic on I-44 East near mile marker 171 through 173 near Jerome was backed up to 8 miles.

There is an alternate route for motorists and semi trucks. They can take Route 360 to U.S. 60 to U.S. 63, and then get back onto I-44 East.
