Confirmed: Shots fired in downtown Columbia early Saturday morning

One week after two separate shootings in downtown Columbia, one in which resulted with a man sustaining a gunshot wound, city officials confirmed there was another shooting Saturday morning.

Columbia police were called to the area of 10th Street and Broadway Boulevard around 2:40 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

City officials said police found shell casings in the area.

Officials said no one was injured, but there was damage to a window at MidiCi’s Pizza.

MidiCi’s owner said he will be meeting with the mayor of Columbia to find out who will pay for the cost of the damage, him or the city.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and they have a generic suspect description. They are looking for more information on the suspect.

It is unclear whether police viewed surveillance video from the area.
