Deputies arrest man accused of driving stolen car, burglary

Boone County deputies arrested a man Wednesday on suspicion of driving a stolen car and burglarizing a home.

Matthew Walker, 28, is currently in the Boone County Jail.

Deputies initially responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle pulling into a resident’s driveway on State Road HH shortly after noon.

Officials discovered the vehicle was reported stolen after checking the reported license plate numbers, according to the sheriff’s department.

Deputies found the vehicle outside of another home on State Road HH and said Walker got out of the vehicle and ran away from them. A K9 was able to track down Walker and stop him.

The owner of the second home later reported someone had gone through his house. Investigators were able to connect Walker to the crime, according to the sheriff’s department.
