Semi closes Columbia drive-in

The Columbia Fire Department responded to central Columbia after tractor-trailer crashed into power lines and damaged a restaurant Monday afternoon.

Firefighters said the truck took out the lines in the 600 block of Orange Street around noon and damaged Mugs Up Drive In.

No one was hurt.

Pictures tweeted out by the fire department appeared to show significant damage to the roof to the business.

The drive-up restaurant posted on its Facebook page Monday afternoon that it was unable to open until the building is inspected by the fire and health departments.
