Emergency crews respond to fire inside Lakota Coffee Company
UPDATE 12:15 P.M.: Emergency crews were dispatched to Lakota Coffee at the corner of 9th and Cherry streets around 11:35 a.m. Monday, according to the Columbia Fire Department.
A fire contained to the inside of a roaster in the coffee shop produced a large amount of smoke that poured out of the front and top of the building.

Firefighters also scaled the coffee shop with a ladder to check on residents living in apartments located about the store on the second floor.
No one was hurt, and nothing else was damaged in the fire.
Emergency crews have cleared the downtown Columbia area.
ORIGINAL STORY: ABC 17 News is working to learn more about a possible fire investigation in downtown Columbia Monday afternoon.
According to ABC 17 Stormtrack Meteorologist Brigit Mahoney, firefighters with the Columbia Fire Department were seen in the area of the Lakota Coffee Company at 24 S. 9th Street around 11:40 a.m.
