Callaway County deputies arrest man after finding him with stolen motorcycle

Callaway County deputies said they arrested a man after finding him near a reported stolen motorcycle early Friday morning.

Deputies said they were patrolling the Moore’s Mill Conservation Area, including County Road 139, around 12:35 a.m. Friday.

During the patrol, deputies said that they saw a motorcycle in the Auxvasse Creek, near the conservation area. They said they also saw Stacy Moore, 47, of Williamsburg, lying in the creek bed not far from the motorcycle.

During their investigation, deputies found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen by the Osage County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they also found that Moore was a wanted fugitive in Lincoln County.

Deputies said they arrested Moore and transported him to the Callaway County Jail. Moore was later charged with first-degree felony tampering with a motor-vehicle.
