Damage at Tipton Correctional Center after offenders refuse to return to housing unit

UPDATE 2:00 p.m.: The Missouri Department of Corrections said the Tipton Correctional Center will not have authorized visitation through Sunday.

A housing unit at Tipton Correctional has some damage after offenders refused to return to their housing unit Wednesday night, according to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The incident was minor, and officials were able to get everything back under control. The damage to the housing unit is still being assessed.
