Emergency crews respond to Ashland Villa

UPDATE 4:27 p.m. 6/18: Barrett Glascock with Southern Boone Fire Protection District confirmed emergency crews responded to Ashland Villa Monday afternoon due to reports of smoke coming through the vents in the dining room.

Glascock said crews did not find a fire or any damage. Firefighters believe a belt in the HVAC system may have burned up.

Emergency crews did shut off the A/C to the dining room and hallways until it could be repaired. Residents were allowed to return to their rooms where each resident has their own A/C unit.

ORIGINAL: Emergency crews responded to Ashland Villa Monday afternoon for reports of an electrical odor.

The Ashland Police Department and the Southern Boone Fire Protection District responded to 301 S. Henry Clay Boulevard around 3:15 p.m.

Police said an electrical odor was detected and the building was evacuated.

ABC 17 News confirmed no one was hurt. We are still working to confirm the source of the odor.
