The Cooper County Memorial Hospital and over 1,800 people across multiple Mid-Missouri counties lost power Saturday.

No patients have been affected by the outage at the hospital, which started around 5 p.m., according to Chief David Gehm of the Cooper County Fire Protection District. Gehm says they are starting generators and supplying ice to keep the hospital safe and operational.

The affected area includes parts of Cooper and Howard counties. Over 1,000 in and around Boonville lost power, and more were affected around New Franklin. According to Ameren, the outages started between 5 and 7 p.m. in the affected areas.

No cause has been determined, according the Ameren website. Power is expected to be restored by 11 p.m. in some areas.
