Overnight storm chance and severe threat
TONIGHT : The line of storms moving in from northwestern Missouri looks like it will split in two and affect mainly areas closer to HWY 65 in western Missouri and areas north of I-70. Unfortunately, some areas of mid-Missouri will be missed by the rain. The severe threat is low and mainly for strong wind gusts over 58 mph which look more likely in our far western counties before 1 AM as storms will weaken as they move southeast.
TUESDAY : There is a chance of a spot shower or t-storm early in the day but it looks like most of the day will be dry and slightly cooler. High temperatures will reach near 90 with heat indices in the lower 90s under partly cloudy skies.
EXTENDED : The next chance of rain looks to be Wednesday early in the morning as a cluster of storms sets up to the southwest and tracks into southern parts of mid-Missouri for the morning commute. Areas south of I-70 look to see the best chance of storms Wednesday morning. Temperatures will stay in the upper 80s Wednesday but will climb into the low 90s Thursday and Friday, possibly reaching the mid 90s this weekend. The humidity will climb and the heat index will reach the upper 90s Friday and near 100 this weekend. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
