Missouri Missing hosts their 11th annual event in Cole County
Missouri Missing hosted their 11th annual event at Memorial Park in Jefferson City.
More than 2,000 adults and 3,000 children have been reported missing so far this year in the state of Missouri.
Supporters at Missouri Missing said keeping the victims in mind is key.
“Never never never give up. That’s the motto here. Yeah, never never never give up,” supporters chanted.
Missouri State Highway Patrol played a role in Saturday’s fundraiser by allowing family members of missing loved ones to file a report, update information or even collect DNA to help find those who are missing.
“First of all, they have to be a biological relative to the person or the missing person then it is just a Q-tip, you swab the inside of their mouth and it’s sent off and they develop a DNA profile for it and it’s available for comparison,” said Trooper Kyle Seabaugh.
A proclamation by the governor stated that June is Missing and Unidentified Persons Awareness Month in Missouri.
