Columbia Area Career Center teacher charged with sexual contact with student

Sean Thomas Diestel, 30, of Boone County was charged Tuesday with felony sexual contact with a student.

ABC 17 previously reported Columbia Police detectives arrested Diestel on May 10 for felony sexual contact with a student following a sexual offense investigation involving a minor.

The female victim was enrolled in a class taught by Diestel at the Columbia Area Career Center and was 17 years old at the time of the reported relationship, according to the official press release.
