Incoming governor unsure on how to find replacement lieutenant governor
Lt. Gov. Mike Parson will replace Eric Greitens as governor of Missouri on Friday, but it’s not clear who will take Parson’s spot, or how that could be decided.
“We haven’t even crossed that yet,” Parson said Tuesday when asked how his replacement will be selected.
According to his office, Parson was on his farm in Bolivar, Missouri when he heard that Greitens was stepping down as governor. The lieutenant governor traveled to the state capitol and met with staff in his office for a few hours, and left around 8 p.m.
Parson briefly answered questions from reporters outside his office when he arrived, and just before he left.
“Missouri is greater than any one elected official,” Parson said. “Missouri is going to come together, we’re going to move forward.”
