Memorial Day Weekend Could End In Record-Breaking Style
MEMORIAL DAY: If you’re a fan of summer-like weather, this weekend has been for you! More of the same is on the way across Mid-Missouri. Another warm and muggy start this morning is going to lead to possibly record-breaking heat in the afternoon. We’ll see temperatures reach the lower 90s for much of the area under mostly sunny skies with light winds out of the east. We’re tracking the possibility of some more afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing, west of HWY 63.
TONIGHT: As has been the case the last couple of nights, any showers and thunderstorms that have developed in the afternoon hours will be dissipating as the sun sets. We drop down to the upper 60s and low 70s once again with mostly clear skies.
EXTENDED: This warm weather pattern will continue well into the week ahead. Temperatures will stay much above average in the afternoons in the upper 80s to low 90s. We’re continuing to track the position of what will be the remnants of Subtropical Storm Alberto. The current forecast has it to the east of Mid-Missouri, but a slight jog west in that track could spell more significant rainfall for the middle of the week. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest updates to the forecast.
