New Bloomfield selects new mayor

Terry Shaw will serve as New Bloomfield’s new mayor. The decision came Friday night after a special session met at 8 p.m. in City Hall.

Former Mayor Greg Rehagen resigned on May 16, citing health concerns as his reason for leaving and has to undergo some extensive surgeries.

Martha Siegel has been serving as the interim mayor of the city since Rehagen stepped down.

Setting up a meeting to select a new mayor is typically the job of the city clerk, but New Bloomfield is looking for a replacement for that position as well.

All New Bloomfield city positions are volunteer.
