UPDATE: Both lanes of I-70 Westbound back open after semi fire
UPDATE 9:30 a.m.: Two people are hurt, and one of them was transported to the hospital after the Friday morning crash on Interstate 70. A crash report shows that one tractor trailer experienced mechanical issues and lost power when it was hit by another tractor trailer. No one was seriously hurt.
UPDATE 6:30 a.m.: Both lanes of Interstate 70 are back open near the 118 Mile Marker.
The semi that caught fire has been towed from the scene.
UPDATE 3:40 a.m.: ABC 17 News has learned more details about a crash that caused the semi fire off I-70 early Friday morning.
Two tractor trailers were involved in the crash, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers on scene. One driver was taken to the hospital. The other suffered minor injuries.
One semi rear-ended the other, causing a Walgreens semi to go up in flames, troopers said. The semi that caught on fire was not carrying any hazardous material.
Firefighters were still on scene as of 3:40 a.m. working to put out the flames.
The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
UPDATE 2:50 a.m.: Emergency crews have transported one person to the hospital by ambulance from the scene, according to the Boone County Fire Protection district.
The extent and type of the injuries is unknown at this time.
UPDATE 2:35 a.m.: One lane of I-70 Westbound is back open at the 118 Mile Marker.
Fire crews are still actively fighting fires at the scene, according to a tweet by the Boone County Fire Protection District. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area with lots of fire units still on scene.

Boone County Joint Communications sent out an alert about the closure just before 2:10 a.m.
Firefighters first responded to the ramp at the 119 Mile Marker for a report of a vehicle fire around 1:40 a.m.
