Summer reigns in Mid-Missouri, as highs remain in the 80s
TODAY: It continues to feel like summer here in Mid-Missouri, as temperatures make another run into the low to mid 80s. We’ll see mostly sunny skies through the remainder of the day, with northeasterly winds up to 7 mph through the day. Despite the northeasterly winds, it will still feel slightly humid outside through the day.
TONIGHT: It will be another mild night across Mid-Missouri. With mostly clear skies and easterly winds up to 8 mph, we’ll only see temperatures bottom out near 65.
EXTENDED: The dry weather continues Wednesday as we heat up into the mid to upper 80s and winds shift to the southeast under mostly sunny skies. With the recent rain, dew points will be on the high side making it feel quite muggy outside. It’s possible we could see heat indices by Wednesday climb into the lower 90s. The rainy, unsettled pattern ramps by the end of the week. While Thursday is looking to be on the drier side, we can’t rule out a possible shower or storm during the afternoon. However a better chance of rain arrives as we head into the weekend and the upper level ridge begins to break down. As the ridge breaks down a cold front tracking through Mid-Missouri will fire off some showers and storms. While no severe weather is expected right now, we are monitoring the Memorial Day Weekend. It’s possible as we head into next week more rain will filter into southern Missouri, as a system tracks onshore from the Gulf of Mexico. While it’s too early too tell, it’s track, intensity, and organization will all determine if we see widespread rain or not. Outside of the rain, Memorial Day weekend is looking to remain on the toasty side, as highs climb into the upper 80s under a mixture of sun and clouds.
