Another warm & windy day before two days bring the potential for severe weather

TUESDAY: There is an slight storm chance mainly north of I-70, but most areas will stay dry throughout the entire day. It looks warm and windy again as temperatures reach into the 80s in the afternoon and southerly winds at 15 mph gust as high as 30 mph at times. Clouds increase into the afternoon leading to a mix of sun and clouds.

TONIGHT: Another dry night is expected with mostly cloudy skies and warm temps. With southerly winds from 11-16 mph overnight lows only drop into the mid 60s by morning.

EXTENDED: Wednesday will feel more like early June as we reach the low to mid 80s under partly sunny skies. Isolated t-storms are possible Wednesday but most areas will stay dry and breezy during the day. Showers and storms are more likely Wednesday night ahead of a slow moving cold front. These will increase from the west overnight into early Thursday with a few strong or severe storms possible, but even then a lot of the activity looks to stay to the north. Wednesday night, most areas along and west of HWY 63 are under a slight risk for severe weather with our eastern counties in a marginal risk with main threats damaging winds and large hail. Thursday looks like a wet day as scattered showers and t-storms are expected much of the day, tapering off Thursday night as the cold front pushes east. Thursday we have the continued chance for severe weather as all of mid-Missouri is under a slight risk. Severe storm development could be tricky with the lack of sunshine providing enough daytime heating, but if storms initialize we could see the risk for damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado. We will dry out Friday morning and into the weekend with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s Saturday, low to mid 70s Sunday and nights in the 50s.
