Special investigative committee looking into allegations against Gov. Greitens meets again
The special committee investigating allegations against Gov. Eric Greitens will meet for the first time Tuesday since it released its initial findings report.
The committee will meet in a closed session at 8 a.m. at the State Capitol.
It’s unclear what exactly the committee will discuss in its meeting, but House Speaker Todd Richardson said last week that the committee will have the opportunity to come back to the General Assembly with recommendations.
The committee extended its original 40-day deadline to May 18, when the legislative session ends and a few days after the governor’s jury trial is expected to start.
The committee is investigating allegations that Greitens took a partially nude photo of a woman with whom he had an affair without her consent.
The report that the committee released had witness testimony from the woman, and she described instances during the affair in which the governor not only allegedly became violent with her, but also a time when her hands were tied, eyes blindfolded and the governor allegedly took a picture of her.
