Maries County deputies arrest man after high speed chase and crash

Maries County deputies arrested Zachariah Hertel, 33, on Thursday after officers saw a car traveling 91 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 28.

Officers said they attempted to stop the car but but it failed to yield. A chase began and it took officers on multiple roads.

During the chase, Hertel failed to negotiate a corner near a bridge and crashed.

Hertel faces possible charges of resisting arrest, driving while revoked, speeding and possession of a controlled substance.
