Reported hazmat incident north of Columbia was “antifreeze in jugs”

The Boone County Fire Department responded to a reported hazmat situation north of Columbia Thursday night that turned out to be “antifreeze in jugs.”

According to the BCFD, the incident took place on Alan Circle. A spokesperson initially told ABC 17 News that the hazmat situation was drug related. However, a sergeant with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said it was actually just antifreeze in jugs.

He said no report was taken and no hazardous material was spilled.
