Miller County deputies arrest wanted man after officers find half-submerged car in private pond

Miller County deputies arrested Leon Davenport on Saturday after officers got reports of a suspicious vehicle that was stuck inside of a victim’s pond.

When deputies arrived on scene, they saw a vehicle that was half way in the pond. Officers searched the area and found Davenport inside of a different car, looking through items.

Officers ordered Davenport to get out of the car multiple times before he listened.

According to the probable cause statement, Davenport had a hypodermic needle coming from his hat. Officers also found a gun and methamphetamine on him.

Deputies later learned that Davenport had seven no bond felony warrants for his arrest out of Miller County.

Davenport was charged with drug possession, burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon.
