Columbia police arrest man after officers find cocaine in car

Columbia police arrested Samuel Haley on Wednesday night after officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle for failing to signal when merging off of I-70 onto St. Charles Road.

When officers made contact with Haley, they saw a stick and a torn off baggie that appeared consistent with narcotics possession.

Officers said when they were speaking with Haley, he attempted to run.

Police searched the car and found cocaine and a gun.

Haley faces possible charges for unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful for certain persons to possess concealable firearms, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
