Wild week of weather on tap for mid-Missouri
TONIGHT : Precipitation will be wrapping up by 10 this evening. The potential is there that we will see a few slick spots developing overnight with the dropping temperatures We’ll be looking at yet another cold night as lows drop into the low 20s for our northern counties and middle to upper 20s farther south.
TOMORROW: Any lingering slick spots will melt off as the sun rises tomorrow– unfortunately we look to remain cloudy. As a warm front lifts northward, showers will increase into the afternoon across most of the viewing area, as temperatures rise into the lower 40s. We even have the potential to hear some rumbles of thunder.
EXTENDED: We will stay warm Monday night and rain ending, especially south of I-70 as temperatures rise into the 50s. We’ll continue to see a steady climb in temperatures Tuesday to near 60 degrees before another strong cold front cuts through the area. We have the potential to spark off a few strong-to-severe storms Tuesday afternoon as well. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for the isolated potential of damaging winds, and a threat for large hail. Wednesday looks cold behind the front as we struggle to rise in the 40s, but we will see full sunshine. The weekend looks to be well below average again, with the potential we could see more snowflakes by Friday night. Stay tuned to ABC 17 for the latest forecast and updates.
