Cloudy and cool conditions to persist through the day
THURSDAY: Lingering showers near I-44 will slowly taper off through the day, with cloudy skies expected for everyone. Thanks to breezy winds out of the north and the cloudy conditions, highs will only top out near 50 degrees today. A jacket will be needed, as wind chills stay near 40 degrees through most of the afternoon.
TONIGHT: Clouds hold on tonight as temperatures drop towards freezing. Northerly winds up to 10 mph will make it feel more like 25 degrees as you step out the door Friday morning.
EXTENDED: We’ll have a cold, mostly cloudy start to the day Friday with morning lows in the low to mid 30s. Clouds will finally clear and we’ll see sunshine to end the work week with high temperatures reaching the mid-50s. An active weather pattern will continue through the weekend with on and off rain chances. There is a chance of isolated rain showers Saturday morning with a mostly cloudy afternoon and highs in the upper 50s. Forecast models are trending colder for Easter Sunday, keeping us in the 30s to lower 40s. Precipitation looks slim into Sunday, as drier air looks to win out. However, a small band of snow/rain looks more likely south of I-70 Sunday evening, but even this chance is limited. No snow accumulation is expected at this time. There is still some uncertainty as to how much moisture will move in on Easter so please check back here for updates and watch ABC 17 News for the newest forecast.
