Jefferson City police arrest man accused of assaulting four officers

Jefferson City police arrested Jerry Johnson on Tuesday after officers responded to the 1000 block of Madison Street for reports of a disturbance where someone was threatening to harm a child.

According to the probable cause statement, Johnson was providing incorrect information and was being evasive to hide the fact that he had an active arrest warrant.

Police said when they attempted to detain Johnson, he began to resist arrest and assaulted two officers.

Johnson was accused of hitting one officer in the face and kicking three others. All officers complained of physical pain.

According to the probable cause statement, Johnson is known to resist arrest even for minor violations.

Johnson was charged with four counts of assault and resisting arrest.
