Feeling like winter for the start of spring
TUESDAY: It will be chilly for the first day of spring as temperatures will start off in the mid 30s with wind chills in the 20s. Clouds hold tight through most of the day as highs only climb into the low to mid 40s. Late in the day clouds will break providing a few peeks of sunshine. Winds will come in from the north near 10 mph early, diminishing to 5 mph by evening.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies hang around tonight as overnight lows drop back below freezing. With a steady wind out of the north up to 8 mph temperatures drop towards 30 with wind chills in the 20s.
EXTENDED: Through the rest of the week, a warming trend with more sunshine is back in the forecast. We’ll reach close to 50 Wednesday and near 60 Thursday. It will stay dry through most of the week before our next low pressure system begins to impact the area late Thursday into Friday. Light rain is possible in northeast Missouri Thursday morning, affecting areas east of HWY 63. Showers will become more likely Friday into Saturday as a warm front lifts across the area, bringing temperatures up into the low to mid 60s Saturday. At this time it looks like we’ll cool back into the upper 50s Sunday. Be sure to check back at ABC 17 to get the latest updates on the forecast throughout the week.
