Camden County deputies arrest three after finding more than 900 grams of methamphetamine
UPDATE: The Camden County Prosecuting Attorney identified the driver as Scott Lewis.
Lewis has been charged with trafficking drugs and four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
Court documents identify the other passengers as Robert Ross and Rebecca Blair.
Deputies said Lewis describes himself as a “gun fanatic” and acknowledged there were guns and drugs in the trunk of the car.
ORIGINAL STORY: Camden County deputies arrested three on Thursday after officers initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Cobalt.
Deputies said the male driver was being sought for his involvement in the distribution of illegal substances. He was accused of being in possession of a revolver.
Officers searched the car and found 944.5 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of heroin, $5,766 in cash, a pistol and two assault rifles.
Deputies said the second man and a woman had numerous active drug related warrants for their arrests. All three were taken to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers said the cash was deemed proceeds from the illegal drug activity and will be subject to forfeiture.
