Boone County man arrested in Ashland shooting

A Boone County man was arrested Friday night after Ashland police and Boone County deputies received reports of gunshots, according to police.

Ashland police said the gunshots were reported around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Church Street.

After investigating, police said a victim was confronted by Justin Hudson, 22, of Hartsburg, after they passed each other in traffic.

Police said Hudson allegedly got out of his vehicle, walked toward the victim and pointed a small caliber pistol up in the air and fired one round. Afterward, Hudson went back to his vehicle and drove away.

Police said they later found Hudson and arrested him on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, endangerment of a child, armed criminal action and fourth-degree assault.
