Winter ends on a spring note
THURSDAY: Another springlike day awaits everyone, as mostly sunny skies and southwesterly winds will warm us yet again. Highs will climb close to 70, with areas north of I-70 slightly cooler. While sunny skies will be in the forecast, clouds will begin to filter in from the west by the evening, as our next system tracks into Mid-Missouri. Winds through the day will be out of the southwest up to 13 mph.
TONIGHT: Rain showers with possible isolated thunderstorms will track into Mid-Missouri from the west tonight into Friday. Showers will enter into mid-Mo from the west by 3 AM and will move east by morning. This comes as a frontal boundary begins to slide through the region and interacts with low level moisture streaming into Mid-Missouri. Overnight lows only drop towards 40 again with winds out of the east up to 13 mph.
EXTENDED: A line of thunderstorms will continue to track through mid-Missouri through the Friday morning commute. There could be an isolated severe thunderstorm or two with the chance for gusty conditions and isolated hail. The bulk of the showers and t-storms look to exit to the east by 11 AM, but scattered rain showers can be expected into Friday afternoon, with cooler temperatures. It’s likely that many locations will stay in the mid 40s through most of the afternoon Friday. Any rain that we see will likely amount to .75″, with higher amounts north. Rain comes to an end by Friday night, with a quick rebound in temperatures for the weekend. While no rain is expected Saturday, another system will begin to take shape that will arrive late Sunday into Monday, with the return of cooler weather.
