Fulton High School student arrested for allegedly making terrorist threat

UPDATE 4:18 P.M.: Fulton High School Principal Chris Mincher released the following statement:

A student today made a statement in class that was inappropriate and potentially threatening. The teacher reported it immediately and we had the police onsite very quickly. They removed the student from FHS. At no time was anyone in danger.

ORIGINAL STORY: Fulton police arrested Tyra Pope, 17, on Wednesday afternoon after officers received a call from administration at Fulton High School in reference to a possible threat.

Pope allegedly made a statement in a classroom indicating that students should not come to school on Thursday due to a possible incident.

One student reported the incident to high school’s principal, who contacted the police department.

Pope is currently in the Callaway County Jail and faces possible charges of making a terrorist threat.
