Showers and thunderstorms expected this evening
WEDNESDAY: Temperatures will climb from the upper 40s in the morning to the lower 60s by afternoon with an increasing chance of showers and t-storms later in the day. This afternoon mid-Missouri is under a marginal threat for severe weather. This provides for the chance for a strong to severe thunderstorm or two to develop during the afternoon and early evening. The biggest threat looks to be isolated hail, but we can’t rule out some strong winds as well. Storms could bring an additional quarter to half inch of rain.
TONIGHT: After midnight tonight light rain showers will continue, but the severe threat ends. Winds will shift out of the northwest dropping temperatures towards 40 degrees by morning. Any rain will exit the area by 8 AM.
EXTENDED: Shortly after the rain ends clouds will begin to clear leading to a sunny Thursday. It will be cooler and windy tomorrow with northwest winds gusting to 30 mph at times as temperatures remain in the upper 40s to near 50. We’ll start warming up again Friday and into the weekend with highs reaching the upper 50s by Saturday. Sunday clouds will build back into the area with a slight shower chance in the morning but a better chance of rain during the evening and overnight.
