Man charged with threatening to kill victim’s family members

A man has been charged with violating an order of protection and harassment after he was accused of sending threatening text messages.

According to the probable cause statement, two victims received several text messages from Robert Bel saying, “Count the days before I take everything from you” and “Your family is going to die.”

Both victims told officers they were fearful of Bel and that both of them had orders of protection against him.

One victim said that they had purchased security cameras for the house because they were scared of what Bel might do.

Previously, Bel was accused of hitting one of the victim’s cars on purpose and setting it on fire.

According to public jail records, Bel is currently in the Boone County Jail with a bond of $54,000.
