Former lifeguard charged with sexually abusing at least two children

UPDATE 3:45 pm: Farr was recently working as a student pastor at Hamlin Baptist Church but was released of his duties, the pastor of the church confirmed.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man has been charged with statutory sodomy after he was accused of molesting at least two children at two local pools.

According to the probable cause statement, Spenser Farr molested a boy in the shower at the Centre. The victim told officers Farr sexually touched him and would not stop when the victim asked him to.

The second victim told police that he was molested by Farr when Farr was a swim instructor and a lifeguard at the Steelville City Pool. Farr was accused of molesting the victim in the pool.

The victim estimated he was molested eight times in 2012 and more than 20 times in 2013.

According to the probable cause statement, the second victim reported that his father reported Farr to the pool manager and Farr was fired.

The pool manager confirmed Farr was fired for touching a child’s genitals.
