Columbia police arrest wanted man after finding gun, drugs

UPDATE 3:50 pm: Berry was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and driving while revoked/suspended.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Robert Berry early Monday morning after officers conducted a traffic stop with a car in the 2800 block of West Henley Drive.

Police said when they made contact with Berry they learned he had a revoked driving status and an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officers searched his car and found a gun, methamphetamine and a digital scale.

Berry faces possible charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and operating a motor vehicle on a highway while his license was revoked.
