Another brief period of dry time before a soggy start to the weekend
FRIDAY: After some morning fog, skies will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures reaching the upper 40s to low 50s with westerly winds up to 10 mph. Rain showers will increase after 6 PM, becoming likely overnight.
TONIGHT: Rain showers will move through the area tracking south to north as temperatures stay in the mid to upper 30s in most of mid-Missouri. There is a chance of freezing rain briefly by the morning for areas north of HWY 24 in northern Missouri as temperatures drop towards freezing.
EXTENDED: Rain moves out Saturday morning with another round of showers and possible t-storms Saturday afternoon, ending by 9 PM. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s Saturday but will fall to near 30 overnight as colder, drier air moves in. Rainfall amounts from Friday night through Saturday night will range from a half in in our northwestern counties to an inch and a half near I-44. Sunday looks dry and mild with highs in the low 50s. We’ll start warming again early next week with highs reaching the low 60s by Tuesday. Rain moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday along with cooler air which arrives for the start of March.
