Group of mothers rally for gun control

A group called ‘Moms Demand Action’ rallied at the Missouri Capitol on Tuesday morning calling on lawmakers to have better gun control laws in place.

ABC 17 had crews at the Capitol where they saw more than 300 men and women show up for the rally.

Moms Demand Action is a nationwide movement with more than 4 million supporters.

Those who participated in the rally went door to door speaking with legislators.

A leader of the group said, “If people, our lawmakers will not do things to make us feel safer, we will be the ones to make sure that they get voted out of office.”

The main target on Tuesday’s march was House Bill 1936, which would prohibit college and universities from punishing students and employees for carrying firearms on campus.

The group said they are a non-partisan organization that supports the Second Amendment and all they are asking for is common sense solutions to end gun violence.
